As Italians we care about the food we prepare and eat, and we enjoy having conversations about it. While imagining our Pastificio, what sprang to mind were images of Italian homes, memories of good things and manners, and the wholesome food of our kitchens.

Fresh pasta is simply a return to our basics. It is about a process, small rituals and slowing down: making things instead of buying them ready made, or enjoying a meal at home with family and friends.

Fresh pasta is a lifestyle and a culture that is the envy of the world.

Handmade daily in Shoreditch

Our recipe for a simply delicious Italian meal? Generous passion layered by tradition and a pinch of nostalgia.

Join us to experience the familiar comforts of an Italian table. Lunch is served daily from 12pm to 3pm, but we're open all day for starters, desserts, coffee (served rigorously in the traditional Italian moka) or a glass of wine and a nibble. 

Dinner is served from 6 to 9pm Thursday through Saturday. We're more than happy to accept walk-ins but due to the limited seating and to avoid disappointment we strongly recommend booking by dropping us a line or giving us a call.

Please note: For parties of 4 guests or more, we request a credit/debit card to confirm the booking. 
Cancellations within 24 hours of the booking will incur in £20 per person cancellation fee. No fee will be charged for cancellations made before then.

Whether we're hosting an event in our tasting corner, running a pasta workshop, supplying a supper club or catering an event for someone, we have one simple rule of thumb: we like it to be a convivial experience. We're fond of feasting and good wines, but part of the pleasure is sharing the table - and the food! - with friends and making new ones.  

 

September/October Fresh Pasta Workshops

Whether you're an absolute beginner who'd like to learn how to make fresh pasta from scratch, or you've been making your own tagliatelle for years, our Sfogline are ready to show you the tricks of the trade.  

You may, of course, take your creation home with you for lunch or dinner! Guests will also be offered a complimentary coffee (for morning workshops) or glass of wine  (for afternoon workshops). As a bonus, a 10% discount on all in-shop purchases applies on that day.

Workshops will run for up to 6 people. We also run bespoke larger workshops for social events with friends, family or colleagues.

People passionate about pasta

Fresh pasta speaks of passion and creativity, tradition and nostalgia, generosity and pride - quintessentially Italian values that have spanned generations and that everyone in the Burro e Salvia team shares. We enjoy trading our family recipes whilst making pasta, get excited about what to put into the menu every week, and simply have fun whilst at the pastificio.  

Women have always played a central role as the heart of  Italian families, homes and kitchens, and that's exactly how it is at our pastificio. The Sfogline - the women that make pasta - are to thank for all the handmade, fresh pasta we make at Burro e Salvia. Any day of the week Gaia, Cristina, Emanuela, Floriana, Sabina, can be found at the pasta station chatting away as they prepare the day's offering. Why not stop and say hello next time you're in the neighbourhood?
